Top Ten Gardening Lessons
from 2007
Last year we published our first New
Year's Top Ten. Here again is a list of the top 10 things
that I learned (or relearned)
about gardening in 2007.

Gardening
is hard. If you think it
is easy you are not challenging
yourself enough. That's what makes it fun. |
#
9 |
Have your
own style. It is like
picking out clothes for yourself. Choose
designs
that you are comfortable with. |
#
8 |
Don't
hesitate to ask for one or two professional
opinions, you might just get the right information. |
#
7 |
Use the
right tools. Save your back, hands, knees etc... |
#
6 |
Choose
plants that grow well in our area. It will save you
time and money in the long run. |
#
5 |
Read
Savvygardener.com every Thursday morning.
|
# 4
|
Keep
learning from others. Yep, there is always something
new to learn so listen to every gardener you meet.
|
#
3 |
Having
your trees pruned is like getting a good haircut. It
really makes a difference. |
#
2 |
It is a
thrill to have so many Savvygardeners living in the
Kansas City-area and there is nothing more
exciting than bumping into
one or more. |
And the
# 1 thing that I learned about
gardening in 2007...
It doesn't matter how much time I spend picking up acorns, there
will always be more!
Happy New
Year! May 2008 bring all of you joy, love and happiness.
